The Vermont Zen Gardens are located in Hubbardton (about 20 minutes from Rutland) in the Taconic Mountain Rambles State Park.
The grounds surrounding the Zen gardens are very picturesque and there’s a variety of hiking trails located around the park to enjoy a good view of the surrounding area. If you enjoy visiting unique sites this is definetly a spot worth checking out, and while in Hubbardton you can also visit the Hubbardton Battle site (if you enjoy history).
