On Today’s autum adventure we headed out to Perkinsville to hike the Power Dam Trail, which is an 8-mile loop trail which runs along parts of the Black River, and the North Springfield Reservoir. It’s a scenic mostly flat hike, which was a change of pace for us but definitely still an enjoyable hike. Perkinsville is a small village located in Weathersfield. The population is roughly 130, and the village contains a number of Historic Areas including Perkinsville Community Church.

On Sunday we traveled to the town of Mount Tabor, Vermont, a small town of about 250 people nestled on the edge of the Green Mountain National Forest.  Mount Tabor features a classic Country Store, and is a short distance from the downtown of Danby. While in Mount Tabor you can enjoy a scenic hike in the White Rock Recreation Area, where you can also go swimming, seasonally unless you enjoy polar plunges.
